On arrival. You will be met by our representative at the arrivals lounge
and will escort you till your check in at hotel.

Perhaps no other city overwhelms a visitor as Kolkata does - crowded,
alive, vibrant, a city with a rich intellectual and cultural heritage.
Inhabited by people who are proud to call themselves Kolkattans, this city
is over 300 years old and has a fairy tale beginning. Kolkata owes its
origin to the British merchant Job Charnock. During the British Raj,
Kolkata was known as the Jewel of the East, and was the capital of the
country until 1911. Today it is still the most important city in the East,
the nerve center of trade and industry, a city bustling with a population
of around 15 million.

Day 02 In Kolkata
Morning proceed for full day city tour.
Visit to Dalhousie square, Victoria memorial, Kali Temple, Church of St.
John, Tagore House & Indian museum
When Calcutta was the administrative centre for British India, BBD Bagh (Dalhouise
Square) was the centre of power. On the north side of the square stands
the huge Writers’ Building, that dates back to 1880.

At the southern end of the Maidan stands the Victoria Memorial, the most
imposing monument in the whole of Calcutta. The most beautiful relic of
all those that the British left in India. Although it is no match to the
magnificient 'Taj' that the British wanted to replicate or rather compete
with, it still symbolises some good combination of European and Mughal
architecture.
Across the river and north of Belur Math is this Kali temple where
Ramakrishna Paramhansa was a priest, and it was here that he reached his
spiritual vision of the unity of all religions. The temple was built in
1847 and is surrounded by 12 other temples, dedicated to Siva
A little south of BBD Bagh is the Church of St. John, that dates to 1787.
The overgrown graveyard here has a number of interesting monuments,
including the octagonal mausoleum of Job Charnock, founder of Calcutta,
who died in 1692.
A centre for Indian dance, drama, music and other arts, Tagore House is
the birthplace of Rabindranath Tagore, India’s greatest modern poet.
Situated on the corner of Sudder Street and Chowringhee Rd is the Indian
Museum built in 1875. It’s certainly the largest and probably the best
Museum in India, and one of the best in Asia. Its widely varied collection
includes a collection of meteorite, fossils, paintings and other works of
art.

Day 11 Delhi – Agra – Delhi (210 kms / 05 hrs one way)
Morning excursion to Agra.
Agra, the city known for the famous monument of love -
the Taj Mahal. The
Mughal Emperor, Shah Jehan, constructed Taj Mahal. It is said he built
this monument in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaj Mahal. The Taj
Mahal is ethereal at any part of the day - blushing in the rosy glow of
dawn or sunset , appearing like a pearly mirage in the moonlight or
reflected in the pools of the garden . Perhaps the most moving view of the
Taj is from an octagonal tower in the Agra Fort further along the river
Yamuna.
There are very few cities in the world that can match the history and
heritage of Agra. Located at a distance of 204 km south of Delhi, Agra is
the single most famous tourist destination of India. Situated on the west
bank of River Yamuna, Agra is a part of the great Norther Indian plains.
The architectural splendor of the city is reflected in the glorious
monuments of medieval India built by great Mughals who ruled India for
more than 300 years.
In the mid 16th century and earlier 17th century Agra witnessed a frenzied
building activity and it was during this time when the symbol of love Taj
Mahal was built. The buildings made during this era were purely in the
contemporary Mughal style and of very high quality, which is still
reflected in whatever monuments remain in Agra.
Afternoon visit the Taj Mahal & Agra fort
With its incredible lacy white grandeur the Taj Mahal is perhaps the most
perfect architectural monument in the world. To the poet Tagore it was a
`tear on the face of eternity'. In memory of his wife the great Mughal
emperor Shah Jehan constructed this most extravagant and incomparable
monument built for love. Amazingly graceful from any angle, it is the
close up detail, which is really astounding.
Agra Fort, is situated on the banks for the river Yamuna, another
monumental mission accomplished by the great Mughal visionary Emperor
Akbar. His son Jehangir and grandson Shah Jehan added to this imposing
structure during their rule. The Palaces, mosques and audience halls
contained within its massive wall of red sandstone are perfect examples of
blending Islamic and Hindu traditions.
Later drive back to Delhi.
On arrival in Delhi you will be transferred to airport hotel for wash &
change.
Later in time transfer to International terminal to board flight for
onward destination.
